Beware Of This Common Mistake With Your Robot Vacuum Deals

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's best-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.

The design is also more appealing than the other models. It has an elegant, top piece that looks like an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. It even was able to capture sand and small gravel which other robots can't. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as smart as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.

Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area which many robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also features an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its size is relatively compact. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive, too. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at cleaning up debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, for instance and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price price.

However, if you're looking to save some money or don't want to think about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of alternatives on the market which include a variety of eufy models for substantially less.  robotic vacuum cleaners , for example is a bit more expensive however it comes with more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up, simply connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect the charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It has a sleek black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It will return to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with the boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
